This is a brief of a more large study about style modifiers versus prompts. Which is the best way to apply a style modifier? Somebody uses a period between description and artist. Others use arwork by or in style of and similar variants. The most importat part is by. It works in general. Try it without any other description, only the artists name.
Andrei Kovalev found a “system” or so to apply styles in a more interesting way. Can be resumed to three possibilities: artist depicting whatever, Whatever. Artwork by artist and Artist artwork depicting whatever.
Better with samples:
Start with a by alone:
Some bias apply. Not all the Picasso’s art was in a cubist style, but, let’s follow “the method”:
Nothing very especial uh? A typical cyber character and color palette.
That’s better! The archetype was changed a lot from typical cyberpunk MJ style. Let’s go further. Picasso is known as painter but was also a good sculptor artists, so, let’s explore this with a new prompt:
Great! If the artist has some special features like sculpting, photography, etc. MJ seems to be very receptive to adapt it in the generation process.
To show it let’s try another artist: Boris Vallejo, with the same or similar prompts. The key is order in the prompt, remember:
Start with by:
and follow:
Try with any artist you want. The third prompt must apply a particular characteristic of the artist: sclupture, drawing, whatever he’s prominent.
Happy prompting!
